Kinky Valentine's Big Edition

By Kitty Guide

Wet Playground’s Valentine’s Big Edition, listed via Kitty Guide, took place in Amsterdam earlier this year. It was held on 14 February, starting at 10pm and running until 5am. I arrived just after 10.30pm and have to admit the venue was already pretty packed. The location for this organiser is often on rotation and is confirmed a couple of days before the event.

This edition took place at Levenslang Amsterdam. The building originally opened in 1978 as a prison and later became a refugee centre in 2016. Parts of the establishment were eventually demolished; however, the old boiler room and canteen remained. From these remnants, Club Levenslang was born, phoenix style. It opened in October 2022, with its walls still telling stories of the past, which definitely adds to the charm.

Once inside, it is important to get tokens for the lockers and, separately, tokens for the bar, as it is a cashless venue. The party spread across multiple levels, giving it a quirky and unconventional feel. Different rooms offered different atmospheres, with the main dancefloor acting as the central focal point. Size-wise, I would estimate around 200 to 300 attendees. My overall impression is that it is very much a sex-positive event, with a fetish-friendly rave vibe rather than a kink or BDSM-focused night.

Music played a central role throughout, with deep house and techno driving the energy. The dancefloor remained active, and many attendees seemed primarily there to dance, socialise, and, for some, make use of the allocated play areas where couches, beds, swings, and other furniture were available.

The dress code was respected and strongly enforced at the entrance, similar to Torture Garden (some reviews for TG here). Most people wore fetish attire, with latex, harnesses, and lingerie common throughout the venue. The crowd skewed largely towards people in their 20s and 30s. There were many couples and fewer solo attendees, which may appeal more to couples than to those attending alone.

Staff and helpers were visible, approachable, and very friendly throughout the night. Attendees also had the option to pick up a coloured bracelet, green, yellow, or red, indicating their openness to being approached or playing. This contributed to a sense of organisation and reinforced the event’s emphasis on awareness and consent.

Overall, Wet Playground offers a hedonistic, rave-oriented environment where fetish expression exists alongside music, socialising, and exploration. It gave me Torture Garden vibes, but on a smaller scale and slightly more approachable.

For those who enjoy fetish aesthetics within a club-like atmosphere, Wet Playground provides a distinctive and accessible experience.

Wet Playground is a s*x positive party that celebrates diverse expressions of pleasure. They provide an inclusive environment to create connections, to dance, and indulge in sensual experiences, and run events in Amsterdam and Barcelona.

Very handy was their Pinterest board!
