And what do I want to talk about? Just a reminder that Marilyn Monroe was a trend setter beyond her time
The NAKED DRESS dominated the red carpet in 2022. But shall we take a look at the most gorgeous and most outrageous outfits (in my opinion)?
Let’s start with Marilyn and the stunning dress she wore when she sung “Happy Birthday, Mr. President” on 19 May 19 1962, for President John F. Kennedy at a gala held at Madison Square Garden for his 45th birthday. Stunning, right? (made even more famous by Kim Kardashian for all the wrong reasons)
Next, let’s take a look at the sheer fuchsia gown wore by Florence Pugh at the Valentino fall/winter 2022/2023 fashion show in Rome. Bellissima!
Have you seen this? Parisian fashion brand Coperni used liquid fibre to spray a dress onto a Bella Hadid at its Spring Summer 2023 show at Paris Fashion Week…
And of course, the stunning Olivia Wilde in an Alexandre Vauthier sheer dress, at the Academy Museum gala last October.
Let’s not forget “Wednesday” aka Jenna Ortega at last year’s the Critics Choice Celebration of Latino Cinema & TV. Woop woop!
But what do you think of these two?? A see-through lace (upcycled, so she gets brownie points for that) wedding dress wore by Camille Charriere at her own wedding, and a sheer slip dress wore by Megan Fox at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards. My face dropped.
And I was also left a tad confused by these last two dresses… what do you think of Zoe Kravitz and Kendall Jenner at the 2021 Met Gala?
