Event review: Le Boutique Bazaar

Retail therapy anyone?

Kinky, obviously. Because we are still perverts.

Do you remember when I wrote about Charmskool? And then I went there again with Alice Hunter, a fellow blogger, for more browsing and some cultural stuff? Well, Charmskool has an older sister event, knows as Le Boutique Bazaar (LBB).

Since it had been a while since my last visit, I decided to pop over for some retail therapy.

Le Boutique Bazaar, London's finest underground fashion

Who is the organiser?

The organiser is fashion stylist Alexandra Houston. Her story begun in 2007, when she attended her first Torture Garden with a DJ boyfriend. That was when she discovered a whole new fashion world she knew nothing about.

She knew she’d always been into kink, extreme fashion, and nightclubbing, but being there made her feel like something spoke to her. In 2009, after splitting up with her partner, she found a home in Torture Garden.

Driven by her love for style and fashion, she created her very own, new, and edgy looks. She made a name for herself, by standing out from the crown (some of her most famous looks were banana-related).

What is the event like?

Le Boutique Bazaar (LBB) is a shopping event like no other, taking place about five times a year, always in London.

It showcase 40+ carefully curated designers specialising in custom latex, corsetry, extravagant millinery, hand made lingerie, luxury leather, avant-garde couture, and more.

It’s often held in a place that has a bar, so it functions like a mix between a shopping event and a social.

Some of the shops

Once I finished the descent into the basement (the venue is a Gentlemen’s Club), I started browsing around. Of course so many pretty things, so little money, it’s always the case! But I wanted to call out some of the shop that caught my attention 🙂

Let’s start a french designer who loves gothic glamour with a hint of horror; they have a shop on Etsy, and I loved all of the headpieces, just so beautiful (and so many bones!).

Her shop’s name? Dollie’s Little Folies!

Another stand that caught my eye was the one by Dee, Second Coming. The shop has no online presence, and the owner is semi-retired, but the clothing rack is one marvel after another! Every piece is unique and gorgeous.

She set up her shop back in the 90s and used to work for Torture Garden both in the office and as costume mistress. She worked with the likes of Dita Von Tease and more.

If I can picture someone looking fabulous in it!

Dee, on how to pick clothes for her shop

Have you met Ineō?

Founded between Bristol and London, they produce well-crafted, luxury leather goods, with a focus on design and quality.

The items are modular leatherwear which works well on various body shapes and personal styles.

All handmade and responsibly sourced too!

The shop’s name? Ineō! Also on IG here.

I honestly love feathers, and I have even created a section in ‘fashion‘ for it to keep track of shops. Just in case anyone who fancies adding fluff to their outfit.

I keep meaning to wear more feathers, and I have managed to include them in my last outfit at Club Pedestal. So this cute shop was veeeeery tempting for me.

They had so many fluffy collars in various colours, as well as little skirts (thou just the back part) that tie over just above you bum, and add a lot of oomph to any outfit!

Her shop’s name? Glamourama xx

Do you need a fun hat or headpiece? This one had such cute things! All handmade and vintage-inspired too ♥

Her shop’s name? Anna Dominoes Millinery! Also on IG

I am going to close up with a latex stand I absolutely love. Their things are so pretty, and it was great to finally meet the maker at LBB.

I have very nearly bought a little black and white cape that gave me bat-wings and Addams Family vibes, which so cute (but also out of my pocket, somehow pictured in both photos I took).

They have stock on Charmskool, on Etsy, and they also run latex marking workshops. And they are on IG too.
