Watched this movie the other day (yes, I know, I am late to the party since it came out last year), and it literally melted my heart.

I am not soppy, you are soppy! (*sobs*)

Want to see the world of a gaysian drag queen, in a gritty, tender, and honest way?

Look no further!

This British movie came out last year, and it’s about a white, straight, mechanic, dad and a South Asia, Muslim, gaysian drag queen (More about drag queen? Here is RuPaul on the cover of Vanity Fair, a TV show about drag called Live Work Pose, and some history about Pride).

The contrast between their lives and the honesty of the reality is just delightful. It was nominated for seven British Independent Film Awards at the 2024 BIFAs, winning one (WOOP). At the 2024 Dinard Film Festival it won both the Special Jury Prize and the Audience Award (WOOP WOOP). I very much recommend it.

Trailer below as usual!
